Little Elm, Texas

Submitted by Ask Alexis on Sun, 08/08/2010 - 12:00am

On Thursday, August 5, I had occasion along with Aera Yoon to visit Little Elm Public Library to do an interview with Tina Hager and her staff.  We are in the process of putting together a video about the Texas Workskills Development in Libraries program.

Tina and her staff have done an outstanding job of making her patrons aware of the services that are available through www.twdl.org.  In addition to informing her patrons about being able to do job searches in Texas. learning how to improve resumes, understanding the interviewing process, she has also posted information about twdl.org at every computer station, created a job bulletin board, and a section of books regarding the job market.  One of the key strengths of TWDL that she mentioned is the information about developing computer skills.

As Tina mentioned, it took her a while to be able to devote time to understanding TWDL and all of thes services that it has but once she and her staff took the time to view the site, it has been a great source of assistance to her staff.

Feedback from patrons has been very positive to this program!

Look for Tina's podcast to appear on this site soon!  Thanks very much to Tina and her team!
