The NTRLS Classes Have Begun

Submitted by Carolyn Brewer on Wed, 02/10/2010 - 12:00am

The first Resumes, Writing and Interviewing class was held at the public library in Decatur with 14 attendees - ranging from an airline captain that took early retirement to persons looking for mechanic jobs.  It was very well received and the attendees either updated or began their resumes - some for the first time ever in their lives!  One woman mentioned after the class that she is encouraged again and the class helped her refocus her resume and job hunt.  These classes are potentially life changing for the participants.  Areas hit hard by unemployment are full of people frustrated and discouraged.  This program has a direct impact on the citizens of Texas - and as the instructor of the classes - I am fortunate to see the new gleam in their eyes when they leave.
